"My WCW is Qabale Duba. She was Miss Tourism; Marsabit County, Kenya Peace and Miss Kenya Investment 2013/14. With a degree in nursing, Qabale was the first girl in her village to join University. She has done an amazing job representing her county, motivating young girls and women and promoting peace and cohesion among the various cultural groups in Marsabit. Qabale is a young woman with a burning desire to not only become a change agent but an effective leader as well. She recently got in touch with me when I show cased Lake Paradise and shared her very informative video. I wish her well."

"2017 NGWL winner selected by our office in Nairobi. As the first female graduate from her village - Turbi, Anna applied for the NGWL Award ready to empower girls and women in pastoralist communities. She founded an organisation called Qabale Duba Foundation (www.qabale.org), in September 2016, whose main focus is to empower girls and women in pastoralists communities, promote maternal health and safe motherhood, provide mentorship programs in village schools, and stand as a champion against harmful cultural practices like Female Genital Mutilation and early marriage. Qabale Duba’s flagship project is PAPA (Pad and Panties) aimed at supplying panties and re-usable pads to girls in remote village schools and women who have no access to these basic necessities. Congratulations Anna! This is a wonderful initiative and we wish you the best of luck in achieving the goals of your foundation. #nextgenerationwomenleaders #NGWLAward"
